The following were the main activities during Rotary year 2009-10:

Club Administration and Secretarial

Updated the constitution and by-laws of RC Kuala Lumpur DiRaja to incorporate the Council of Past Presidents and to enable the club to operate under the new Club Leadership Plan.
Substantially amended the rules of the Kuala Lumpur Rotary Charity Foundation so that there will be more participation from members and to operate more effectively.
Engage a firm of professional secretaries to make submissions to the authorities and ensure complete compliance with the local laws and to maintain a record of club assets.
Completed renovation of Wisma Rotary and finalised the setting up of club and foundation archives.
Conducted three club assemblies and several EGMs and AGMs.
Membership Development

Inducted one returning and 6 new members into the club bringing total membership to 101.
Inducted one new honorary member into the club with this membership category now standing at 5.
Service Projects

Major project – donation of a van to PERTIWI for its soup kitchen project. Financing came from proceeds from the 2009 installation and fund raising dinner as well as a donation from our sister club, RC Phuket.
Donated PVC floor covering, essential goods and blankets to the victims of the Padang earthquake via the Indonesian embassy.
Donation to Philippines typhoon victims via our sister club, RC Makati.
Provided financial assistance to deserving students from 9 primary schools under the club’s Rotary Education Aid project.
Final distribution of proceeds from the Malaysian Golf Carnival (2007-08) to 4 homes for under privileged children.
Provided financial assistance to a special education school for the furnishing of a ‘snoozelen’ room.
Donated to the Raja Muda Foundation (created by our Royal Patron); this provides vocational and sport training to youths.
Provided cash donation and musical instruments to Jinjang High School for its orchestra.
Provided children-safe playground equipment to a charity kindergarten in Cheras.
New Generations

Supported our Interact clubs for the project ‘The Big Interact Family’ organised by 7 Interact clubs together with our Rotary Community Corps at Kampung Sungei Lui.
Sponsored young participants to attend RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) in Port Dickson.
Sponsored Interactors attending the District Interact Leadership Conference held in Nilai.
Sponsored Rotaractors attending the District Rotaract Assembly.
International Service

Renewed our sister club agreement with RC Phuket during their visit to Kuala Lumpur.
Hosted the annual Sister Club Golf Tournament with RC Raffles City.
Attended the installations of our sister clubs RC Makati (Philippines) and RC Phuket (Thailand)
Rotary Foundation

Contributed US$ 3,000 to Rotary International’s Polio Plus programme
25 members made contributions to TRF under the EREY programme
Added 3 members to the rank of PHF bringing the total to 48 and 3 Benefactors; two others raised their PHF status by one level.
Public Relations

Submitted regularly contents for the District Governor’s monthly newsletter “Rotarians”.
Ensured that many of our club projects received coverage in the English and vernacular press.
Assisted the district in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the district time capsule located near the City Hall and reviving relationship with City Hall.
Recognitions / Awards

Presidential citation for RY 2009-10.
District award for best website in our category.
RI “Four Avenues of Service” citation presented to Rtn Horst Wippern (Club Administration Chair).
Recognitions for our sponsored Rotaract and Interact clubs.
