The Rotary year began with the first Kelab Golf Angkatan Tentera C RCKL Charity Golf 2000 tournament. A total of RM 18,595 was raised for the benefit of (1) Tabung Kebajikan Angkatan Tentera, (2) Taman Megah Handicapped Children's Home, and (3) Old Folks Home Sempalit, Raub, Pahang. A total of RM 11,000 was raised for the benefit of Mr Ng Ah Chai's family who suffered from cancer of the eye and was also a sole bred winner of the family. Raised RM 16,180 for the Gujarat Earthquake relief.

HE Mr K Kesavapany, the High Commissioner of Singapore, organised the Malaysian debut of the Singapore Indian Orchestra and Choir where a total of RM 12,000 was raised for the "Save-A-Sight" and the "Abandoned Children Home" projects. Also raised RM 16,180 for the "Save-A-Sight" project from the performance of the Melbourne String Ensemble. Organised the 1st Charity Dinner and Auction by Sotheby's to raise funds for the Magnum Rotary Centre. total amount of RM 1 million was raised. The club also submitted an application to Rotary International for the 3H (Health, Hunger & Humanity) grant valued at US$ 300,000.

Signed a Trust Deed agreement with the Magnum Foundation where Magnum Foundation committed to contribute RM 2.6 million towards the construction and administration cost of Magnum Rotary Centre, Home for Abandoned Children.

For the community, we visited our old folk's home run by the Sisters of the Poor in Cheras and also the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus, and donated some provisions. This was followed by a fishing fellowship with Rotarians' families. A joint Health Awareness Campaign with DBKL was held on 27 August at San Pen flats. We set up an exhibition on AIDS and other information on health problems. The club's doctors provided free health screening for the urban poor. Donated 20 steel beds, linen, one television set, and adult diapers to Taman Sinar Harapan in Kuala Kubu Bharu, a home for the mentally retarded.

Ms Phua Min Hui, a blind student from University Malaya, was given a laptop with special software to assist her in her studies. Donated gas cookers and sewing machines to the Orang Asli settlement in Janda Baik. Joint projects with Rotary Club of Teluk Intan where we donated 25 sets of triangular tables, plastic trays and containers to Bethlehem Home for Epileptic Children in Dinding. Another project with Rotary Club of Taiping where we provided a tricycle for a handicapped father to do small business to support his family. Visited the Sempalit Old Folks Home and donated provisions, steel beds, mattresses, pillow, one new refrigerator, one television set and two transistor radios, chairs and tables. Restored the sight of Ms Kavari d/o Ravindran via a successful cataract operation at club expense. Placement of Ms Ng Kit Yen who is blind, at Malaysian Association for the Blind for proper training and guidance. Both the children were from the Taman Megah Handicapped Children's Home where the club also donated provisions and milk powder.

The following Rotary Clubs benefited from our club's donation of school bags and home accessories obtained from Ikea: Taiping, Kamunting, Bahau, Kuala Pilah, Cheras, Teluk Intan, Sitiawan, Bukit Kiara Sunrise, Brickfields, Bernam Valley, Kampong Bahru, Kuala Lumpur North, Kuala Lumpur West, Pantai Valley, and Tampin.

Internationally, the club participated in a Rotary Student Exchange programme with Rotary Club of Makati, Philippines, where six Rotarians' children spent 11 days with Rotarians in Makati. Our club members also visited our sister club RC Taipei Southgate. A delegation visited a Rotary club in Jakarta, Indonesia. Participated in the Five Generations Intercity meeting with our club being the great grandfather. Sponsored Ms Lim Ee Lin as a GSE team member to Brazil. Organised an International Forum on Human Rights with Y. Bhg Tan Sri Musa Hitam, chairman of SUHAKAM, giving the keynote address.
